What we love…

There’s no such thing as a ‘hunting type’ of person. We all enjoy trail hunting for different reasons though we tend to share a love of being immersed in nature. Here are a few thoughts and stories from some of our regular followers…

“I am a rubbish rider. I took up hunting for two reasons: My wife bought me a coat that fitted fabulously and I really wanted to wear it and, secondly, I would otherwise never see my wife!”

— Paddy

“No two days are the same. It manages to be peaceful, fascinating and challenging all at the same time. It turns winter into the Queen of seasons. And I love the camaraderie among the Field. They are the very best colleagues now that I work from home.’

— Katherine

“It was 1965. One day Hound music floated across the neighbouring farm. My sister and I ran toward the sound and saw the Field of riders following. We borrowed/stole some ponies and I’ve never looked back.”

— Trish

“I treasure being in the middle of really beautiful, and sometimes private, countryside watching Hounds. All one’s senses are awakened to nature. It is an immeasureable tonic to the working week. It’s also a reminder of the imperative of trust; trust in your abilities as a rider, your horse, those around you and being part of a shared experience. I am always grateful for that.”
