Further information.
The Tulip Festival, is set against the breathtaking backdrop of Arundel Castle’s gardens. For this year 70,000 new tulip bulbs were planted by the castle’s award-winning Head Gardener, Martin Duncan, and his team. There are over 30,000 tulips that will come back from the 2023 Festival taking the total to over 110,000 tulips, as well as many Narcissus, Camassia and Snake and Crown Imperial Fritillarias. In total, 1.3 million tulips have been planted since the festival started. Last year, for the first time in history, the castle’s iconic steep bank had 10,000 Oxford red tulips planted. Along the walk from the castle to the gardens, there were 14,000 King’s Blood bulbs planted in celebration of King Charles III’s Coronation. There are also 6 tulip celebration cakes; large structures resembling wedding cakes with Thalia narcissus daffodils surrounding the bases. Kindly donated by Chica Norfolk
Private parking will be available a short walk from the gardens.

Charlton Hunt the Great Chase.
A historical account of the great chase. Only known to be 2 copies. The second used to hang in the Fox at Charlton. Size 67 cm x 35 cm.
This infamous account of ‘The Remarkable Chase at Charlton’ has been in the Garry family for many decades. It was handed down from our grandparents, Mr Harold Field of Chichester, who was a very well-known horse dealer, and sold many hunters, including finding The Queen Consort Camilla her ‘horse of a lifetime’! It lists all the names of the hounds, and recalls the areas, and the incredible distance that was covered, on this exceptional day of fox hunting.
