South of England Show | 2019

As we were only able to enter one class this season, it was always going to be a modest day in the ring for us, but Dragon showed well against stiff competition to come away 4th in the Stallion Hound class.

Sophie Lawes received the ‘Young Hunt Staff Award (2019)'
This is one of the most sought after awards in the hunting world with nominations from far and wide.  It is taken extremely seriously.  Sophie wins £100 cash and an engraved hunting horn donated by Sir Nicholas Soames and Ian Compton at Henry Keat/Calcutts.  It speaks volumes for Sophie that her unfailing and invaluable help in the kennels has been recognised by this years’s committee.  It is a richly deserved award and we could not be more proud of her.

CL&C Hunt Relay Team
And, in a similar vein, we are delighted to report that the CL&C's relay team ended the competition as joint winners — in a thrilling finish— with the Old Surrey and Burstow, pushing the Mid-Surrey Farmers’ Drag and The Southdown & Eridge into third and fourth places.

This is a terrific win and a great team effort.  Huge congratulations to the flawless team members made up over the two-day competition from Candice Dunlop, Julian Edge MFH, Rachael Morley, Storme Rees and Vicki Wilkins MFH with Chef d’Équipe, Zoe Brackpool
