The Hunt Supporters Club started over 50 years ago (our 50th Anniversary was celebrated with a summer party at The Kennels in May 2011) as ‘The Chiddingfold & Leconfield Foot Followers Club’. It now covers a wider membership, as the name change suggests, with foot followers, riders who don’t subscribe (though many subscribers choose to be members of the Supporters Club as well) and people who wish to support and be part of the Hunt. We recently amalgamated with the Hunt Club.

Through a busy schedule of social events, both during and out of the season, the Supporters Club raises funds for the Hunt.

There is something for everyone, with treasure hunts, horn blowing and holloa-ing competition night, trips to greyhound racing and to the Olympia Horse Show at Christmas, carol singing at the Stag Inn, and our Countryman’s Day, a traditional country show with terrier, lurcher and family dog show, ferrets, tractors, trade stands and the ever popular terrier racing.

We also say a big thank you to pubs who host meets or provide sponsorship or prizes for the Hunt, by meeting at one of them every month for a meal: our popular ‘Pub of the Month’ evenings.

Over the years funds raised have enabled the purchase of a Toyota ‘Hi-Lux’, the refurbishment of the Whip’s flat at the kennels, a new box for the hound lorry, a hunt horse, and tools and machinery for the upkeep of country, fences, gates, jumps, and above all the kennels. We also give substantial donations to the ‘Wire Fund’, to buy materials for jumps.

It is a great way of getting involved or just staying in touch.
